LEWISTON — Lynyrd Skynyrd, who were set to perform at Artpark Tuesday evening, have canceled their show due to a medical issue.

Skynyrd was a replacement for Tears for Fears, who canceled their summer tour in May due to an illness of one of the band members.

A post on the Artpark Facebook page explains Tuesday night’s cancellation:

Lynyrd Skynyrd has cancelled their July 19 concert at the Artpark outdoor Amphitheater due to a medical issue with one of the band members.
The band released this statement on July 18:

“Lynyrd Skynyrd’s performance at Artpark in Lewiston, NY on July 19th has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule the show in the near future.

Founding member and guitar player, Gary Rossington, is seeking doctor’s evaluation in Atlanta after experiencing some chest pains. Lynyrd Skynyrd will resume their tour once Gary is cleared by medical professionals. We will advise as soon as we have additional information.”

Please stay tuned for information as it is released regarding a possible rescheduled date or ticket refund info if a rescheduled date is not reached.
