NEWFANE — The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a crash this afternoon on Lockport-Olcott Road between a bicyclist and a vehicle.

According to NCSO, the crash occurred just before 4 p.m. when a juvenile riding a bicycle southbound on Lockport-Olcott Road, turned east to cross the northbound lane, directly in front of a northbound vehicle causing a collision.

The bicyclist — whose identity has not been released — was transported by Mercy Flight to Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo for treatment. The driver of the northbound vehicle, Donald Dillon II, 69 years old, from Appleton, refused medical treatment at the scene.

The investigation is continuing by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit.
