ELLICOTT — A 24-year-old Celoron man was charged Tuesday with first-degree forgery and petit larceny, accused of stealing and then forging checks.

According to New York State Police, Zachary Card had stolen checks from the complainants checkbook on nine occasions over a six-month span, making the checks out to himself and then forging the complainant’s name, illegally obtaining $835.

Card was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Court, and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
