BUFFALO — A Lackawanna man faces 25-years-to-life after being found guilty of second-degree murder for the stabbing death of his wife.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. on July 1, 2015, Daniel Whiting stabbed his 21-year-old wife Ashley 30 times at their home at 135 Madison Avenue and then stabbed himself, claiming that both were attacked by an intruder.

Jurors deliberated just under an hour before convicting Whiting, who was remanded to jail pending sentencing on August 15.
