LEWISTON — Silo Restaurant owner Alan Hastings accepted the All WNY Award for “Best Burger” at the North Water Street establishment on Tuesday.
The Silo won the online vote for best burger in May, beating out Alton’s on Transit, Aro Bar de Tapas, Griffon Pub, Grover’s, The Log Cabin, New York Beer Project – Lockport, Roaming Buffalo, Roaming Dee’s, Soliday’s Bar and Grille, and Vizzi’s in Kenmore for the award. Restaurants were nominated online from May 9 through May 15 with voting taking place May 16 – May 22.
The Best Burger award is the first non-music related All WNY Award. A new category is being added other week with nominations taking place the first week, followed by voting the second week. Other awards have included Best Tourist Attraction (Niagara Falls excluded), which went to Lockport’s Flight of Five, and Best Locally-Owned Coffee Shop, which went to Orange Cat Coffee Co., also in Lewiston.
Nominations are open now for Best Barber. Once nominations are closed on Sunday, voting will take place from Monday through July 3.
