LOCKPORT — The Lockport Public Library’s 2016 Summer Reading Program — On Your Mark, Get Set … READ! — began Monday and continues through Aug. 19.

Lockport-area children are invited to come into the library’s Children’s Department to sign-up for “a summer of fun reading, programs and prizes.” Weekly programs include story times, Artist Club, Science Club, Mysterious Maker Mondays, Family Fun Nights, Drop-In Craft days, and Wild Wacky Wednesdays. The Library will also host story times at Outwater Park and Day Road Park during the summer.

Events for the week of June 27 through July 1 include:

  • June 27 – 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.: Make & Take Craft – Summer Reading Bookmarks
  • June 28 – 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: Red, White & Blue Patriotic Storytime *Registration required
  • June 28 – 2 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Red, White & Blue Patriotic Storytime *Registration required
  • June 29 – 6:30 p.m. – Family Fun Night – The Lockport Community Band
  • June 30 – 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.: Patriotic Make & Take Craft – Uncle Sam crafts
  • July 1 – 10 am. – 3 p.m.: Patriotic Make & Take Craft – Uncle Sam crafts 

Due to space and supply restrictions registration is required for some events. If you register but cannot come, please notify the Library so others may be added to the list. On the day of the program, spaces for those on the list will be held for 10 minutes. After that, the spaces will be offered to anyone waiting to participate.
