TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 32-year-old Town of Lockport man was charged by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office with reckless assault of a child and second-degree assault, accusing of injuring an infant.

According to Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour, David R. Barnes caused serious injuries to his five week old child on April 16 at his Town of Lockport residence.

Barnes and his attorney met NCSO investigators at Lockport Town Court and  was arraigned today by Justice Cheryl Antkowiak. Bail was set at $5,000/$10,000 with a return court date given as June 23.
