“Allow yourselves to become Greek for a Day!” urge the organizers of the 40th Annual Buffalo Greek Festival – known to many as the Hellenic Festival.

From the festival’s website: “Acquaint yourselves with our Greek Orthodox Church. Step into our culture and experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the birthplace of democracy – Greece. Enjoy the Greek food, feel the rhythm of the music, and dance a little!”

Held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 146 West Utica Street, GreekFest begins at 5 p.m, Friday, promising continuous traditional Greek dancing by the Parish dancers and folk dancers from greece, and non-stop Greek music performed by local and visiting bands. Enjoy imported foods, baked goods, gift shops, art, church tours, as well as cultural exhibits and events

The festival map — available for download here — allows visitors to easily explore the event, finding food, exhibits and vendors easily, while the festival schedule easily outlines cultural lectures and tours of the church accompanied by Byzantine chanting.

The Bar Tent and Food Tent will be in operation throughout the event, running until midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $2, children under 12 admitted free.
