BUFFALO — A 58-year-old Buffalo man was sentenced to 2 1/3 – 7 years in state prison on a first-degree reckless endangerment charge.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., on Jan 26, Leslie May struck his wife in the head with a gas can and doused her with gasoline with the intent to set her on fire. An upstairs neighbor hearing the commotion and smelling the gas, knocked on the door causing May to flee.

May was taken into custody in February.
