
GAINESVILLE — A 39-year-old Gainesville man was charged Tuesday with endangering the welfare of a minor and third-degree criminal sex act.
According to New York State Police, on April 30, Eric E. Hartman, had communicated via social media and then met with a 16-year-old male in the Village of Perry in Wyoming County, where he then engaged in a criminal sexual act by the youth.
Hartman was arrested and processed at SP Warsaw, arraigned in the Village of Warsaw Court by Justice Michael Hyjek, and then remanded to Wyoming County Jail without bail.
Hartman, a Level II sex offender registered in New York state, is scheduled to re-appear in the Village of Perry Court June.
