OLEAN — A 27-year-old Cuba man was charged with a Leandra’s Law violation — aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child-passenger of less than 16 years old — as well as unlawful possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a motor vehicle crash on Saturday.

According to New York State Police, Ryan D. McDonald had hit the vehicle and fled. He was located on county Route 50 in the Town of Ischua, where he admitted to being the operator of the vehicle at the time of the accident.

McDonald was operating the vehicle with a six-year-old passenger and was driving with a suspended drivers license. Troopers determined he was intoxicated — with a .12 percent blood alcohol content — and found a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

He was processed, arraigned and remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash/$20,00 property and scheduled to appear in the Town of Ischua Court on Tuesday.
