Pork, the other white meat?

Yes it is because it is so adaptable to any recipe. I know that in today’s standards, you can eat pork cooked medium because of the advancements we have made, however I still like mine with no pink at all. You can still cook pork to medium well and well done and still have a juicy piece of meat, it is all in the way on how you cook it. I love pork many ways, my favorite way is fried pork chops, but that is a recipe for another day. Today we are doing a marinated Asian pork chop.

  • 4  1/2″ thick pork chops
  • 1/4 c Asian ginger sesame salad dressing, I use wishbones
  • 1 t. ground ginger
  • 1/2 t granulated garlic
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/8 t black pepper

In a medium bowl, combine all spices and the salad dressing, and whisk together. Add pork chops, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to an hour. In a large skillet, place 3T oil and turn on medium heat, once the pan is hot add the pork chops, and cook on one side 4 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned. Turn over and cook the same length of time on the other side. Remove from pan and let rest for a couple of minutes for the juices to resurface.

Eat and enjoy. You can serve this with rice, a salad or just steamed vegetables. It is a very easy meal to make and one full of flavor, sit back and enjoy.
