AMHERST — ComedySportz 8th Annual Improvathon will offer 49 1/2 straight hours of comedy improv beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at The Arena, 4476 Main St.
The event features 25 straight ComedySportz matches with a new match starting every even-numbered hour — all day and night until 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are priced depending on the expected popularity of the time. For example, it’s only $1 for a two-hour slot during the “off times” of 4 a.m. to noon Saturday. The most expensive “primetime” tickets are $10 for a two hour slot (8 p.m. – midnight Friday, 6 p.m. – midnight Saturday and 6 – 7:30 p.m. Sunday. There are also full-access passes for $35 ($28 for children, student, seniors and the military).
During the action, there will also be basket raffles, 50/50 split and live auctions of unique ComedySportz memorabilia of experiences. Funds raised will be used to send the Buffalo ComedySportz team to the 2016 ComedySportz World Championship in Indianapolis.
