Sharks Gone Wild 2
Just like last year Discovery Channel let the public at large do their work for them. The attack statistics finally showed up. There was three or four minutes of actual shark news since last years Shark Week. The bonnethead shark is omnivorous. Mapping of the great white genome showed that they can repair their own genetic material, inspiring new cancer research. Basking sharks return to California for the first time in 30 years. You have a 1 in 1.37 million chance of being attacked by a shark. There were no videos shown of humans abusing sharks like there were last year, but there was a few videos of humans helping sharks which makes me feel a little squishy for those particular humans.
This is a tailored for the masses way to get people involved with sharks. If you get a good enough video it could be featured on Shark Week next year. This is probably not a good idea. Sharks need more attention but humans do not care what they destroy to get what they want and could cause serious damage to the sharks and themselves.
Shark Week Immersion

The internet stars of Immersion tackle Shark Week. Immersion has 40 million followers. They sold this like they were going to try to disprove some of the more moronic things pop culture has led people to believe about sharks. They did not.
This is basically a very stupid version of Mythbusters. From time to time they had little tid bits of shark trivia but for the most part this was stupidity on parade. They did pointless stunts to win a competition to not get in the water with sharks and all of them ended up in Tiger Beach. I find it hard to believe that people actually believe that video game sharks, and sharknadoes are real things.
Tonight’s programming was incredibly dangerous and reckless. Encouraging stupid people to interact with sharks is a horrible idea. The sharks or the humans are going to get hurt and that will be devastating for shark conservation. When wild animals are not respected it never turns out well, and it is always the animal’s entire species that gets the bad publicity and hunted down.
Shark Week 31 has come to an end and it was MUCH better than last year. Shark Week is about celebrating and learning about these amazing creatures. Saving sharks is vitally important to the future of this planet. They keep the oceans in balance, which keeps the planet in balance. Once again, I am Sylly and I have had the pleasure of spending a second Shark Week with you. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
