BUFFALO STATE ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo State’s Khalil Sommerville (Buffalo/Bennett) is currently attending the Buffalo Bills Rookie Minicamp as a tryout player.

The Bengal senior is lining up along side third-round pick Harrison Phillips of Stanford as well as first-rounder Tremaine Edwards of Virginia Tech and several other NFL hopefuls from programs like Penn State, Alabama, Clemson and South Carolina.

In three seasons as a defensive lineman at Buffalo State, Sommerville was a three-time All-Empire 8 selection, including first team as a senior and second team as sophomore and junior.  In 31 career games, he had 125 tackles, 32 for loss, 12 sacks, a forced fumble, and one blocked kick.
