The Buffalo Bills signed free agents Brandon Spikes and David Hawthorne today, filling holes left by the injuries of Kevin Reddick and Reggie Ragland.

Spikes didn’t play in the NFL last season, meaning he most recently played with the Bills in 2014, recording 53 tackles, three pass breakups and a sack that season.

Hawthorne, meanwhile is an eight-year NFL vet who has played the last four seasons with New Orleans at linebacker. Three of those seasons were under Bills Assistant Head Coach Rob Ryan, who served as his defensive coordinator with the Saints from 2013-2015. Hawthorne recorded 33 tackles in 11 games last year.

The Bills also added tight end Jimmay Mundine, shoring up a hole left by the injury of Jim Dray.

To make room on the roster for the three additions, the Bills released DB and return man Javier Arenas and WR Gary Chambers. Reddick moving to waived/injured freed up the third roster spot.
