PITTSFORD — The Buffalo Bills announced the additions of coaching and scouting interns.

The Buffalo Bills have named Louie Aguiar, Michael Bankston, Timmy Chang, David Clowney, Drew Coleman, Jeremy Gold, Jordan Hogan and Seth Joyner as the 2016 Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship participants. Aguiar, Bankston, Chang, Clowney, Coleman, Gold, Hogan and Joyner assisted the Bills’ coaching staff during mandatory minicamp in Orchard Park and will assist at Buffalo Bills Training Camp presented by Connors & Ferris at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, NY.

Aguiar will work with the special teams unit.  Entering the NFL in 1991, Aguiar spent time with the Jets (1991-93), Kansas City (1994-98), Green Bay (1999) and Chicago (2000). He played in 152 games and recorded a gross average of 41.2 yards on 758 punts. He was named a second-team all-pro in 1995. Aguiar was the assistant special teams coach for the Jets in 2013 and 2014.

Bankston will work with the defensive line. After playing in the NFL from 1992 to 2000 with the Arizona Cardinals and the Cincinnati Bengals, Bankston made the jump to coaching. He currently is the Head Coach at the Rite of Passage School in Phoenix, Arizona.

Chang will work with the quarterbacks. He was a four-time All-Western Athletic Conference player at Hawai’i from 2000-2005. He completed 1,388 of his 2,436 career passes for a 57.0 completion percentage, amassing 17,072 passing yards and 117 touchdowns. He held the NCAA Division I record for passing yardage, total offense, total completions, total attempts and total plays, two of which still stand. Since his playing career, Chang has transitioned to coaching and is currently the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach at Emory & Henry College.

Clowney will work with the wide receivers. He was in the NFL from 2007 to 2013, spending time with multiple teams including the Bills. Clowney suffered an injury in 2013 that left him temporarily paralyzed and pushed him towards coaching. He currently is the wide receivers coach at ASA College.

Coleman will work with the defensive backs. He followed up a standout career at TCU by playing in the NFL from 2006 to 2012, spending time with the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions.

Gold will work on the defensive side of the ball. He currently serves as the Blended Learning Facilitator at the Oracle Charter High School in Buffalo. He has experience coaching at both the high school leve and the collegiate level with Eastern Michigan University.

Hogan will work with the wide receivers. He currently is an assistant football coach at Buffalo State, joining the staff in 2013. Hogan wrapped up his playing career in 2013 after starting for three years at wide receiver at the College at Brockport.

Joyner will work with the linebackers. The three-time Pro Bowler played in the NFL from 1986 to 1998 and recorded 52 sacks and 24 interceptions. He spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos. Joyner was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1991.

The Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship is designed to expose talented minority college coaches to the methods and philosophies of summer NFL training camps. Walsh introduced the idea to the league in 1987 when he brought in a group of such coaches into his San Francisco 49ers training camp. Eventually every NFL team became a participant in the program.

The Buffalo Bills have participated in the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship program since 1989.

The Buffalo Bills are also participating in the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship this season.

The Bills have named Nijrell Eason and Ashton Youboty as the 2016 Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship participants. Eason and Youboty will assist the scouting department at Buffalo Bills Training Camp presented by Connors & Ferris at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, NY.

Eason and Youboty will be at camp from August 1 to August 12.

Eason was in the NFL from 2002 to 2004 and appeared in one game with the Arizona Cardinals. He played collegiately at Arizona State from 1999-2001 and started at defensive back.

Youboty played in the NFL from 2006-12, including a four year stint with the Bills from 2006-10. In his career he totaled 85 tackles, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions and one forced fumble. Youboty played collegiately at Ohio State.

The Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship, named in honor of longtime Steelers personnel director Bill Nunn and former NFL player and front office executive John Wooten, will be administered by the NFL’s Football Development Department. The objective of the program is to provide former players who are interested in becoming a professional scout an opportunity to observe and participate in how the scouting process works at NFL clubs.

The Bills previously participated in this program in 2014 when Reggie Corner joined the scouting department for the 2014 Training Camp.
