TOWN OF TONAWANDA — A 44-year-old former youth pastor was charged Friday by the Town of Tonawanda Police Department with possession and dissemination of child pornography.

According to police, Scott D. Stockton was arraigned on three felony charges including two charges of promoting a sexual performance of a child less than 17 years old and one charge of possession a sexual performance of a child.

The arrest culminated a yearlong investigation into Stockton that alleges he received, shared, and possessed pornographic images that involved minors. Homeland Security Investigations assisted with his case. Stockton is known in the area for his pastoral work and mentoring of youth through churches and schools.

He is scheduled for a felony hearing in Town of Tonawanda Court on Wednesday. He is currently free on bond.
