TOWN OF NIAGARA — On April 13, 2023 at 0110 hours, Deputy Ross observed a vehicle westbound on Packard Road with no taillights and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued into the City of Niagara Falls, ending on Ferry Avenue and 21st Street. The driver, Stephanie L. Smiedala was found to be under the influence of drugs and was placed into custody.

Stephanie L. Smiedala was subsequently charged with several Vehicle and Traffic charges, including: Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation First, Reckless Driving, as well as, Penal Law Charge: Unlawful Fleeing in the Second Degree. Due to Smiedala’s high level of impairment, she was issued her traffic tickets and transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport for evaluation.
