The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Niagara County until 11:30 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles west of Niagara Falls at 10:44 p.m., heading east at 45 mph.

Expect 60 mph wind gusts, damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include: Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, Lockport, Grand Island, Newfane, Pendleton, Lewiston, Youngstown, Fort Niagara State Park and Sanborn.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
