
BUFFALO — A 20-year-old Buffalo man stands charged with criminally negligent homicide, reckless driving, speeding and passing a red light in connection with an August crash that resulted in a 72-year-old woman’s death.
According to Acting District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., on Aug. 20, Jamar Sales drove his car at a high rate of speed through a red light at Masten Avenue and Northampton Street, crashing into a vehicle driven by Sylvia deRosas who was proceeding through the intersection with a green light, resulting in deRosas’ death.
Sales pleaded not guilty and bail was set at $10,000. If convicted, he faces a maximum prison sentence of four years in state prison.
