HARTLAND — An unidentified male died today as a result of an accident on a Seaman Road farm.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the male was found unconscious and trapped underneath a tractor with attached haybine in the side yard of 9201 Seaman Road in the Town of Hartland.
Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of the Hartland Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene and confirmed that the male was unresponsive. The male was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation at the scene showed the male was operating the equipment when a mechanical failure occurred resulting in the subsequent death. Investigation will continue by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
The name of the male operating the farm equipment is being withheld at this time pending notification to the family.
