TOWN OF NIAGARA — A 51-year-old Niagara Falls man was charged Tuesday with driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance following a Porter Road traffic stop.

According to New York State Police, Joseph Gioannini was stopped around 1:40 p.m. “after he became agitated while waiting in traffic due to a previous accident and began blowing his horn and causing a scene.”

Following the stop, Gioannini was determined to be impaired. He was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of narcotics, and his driving privileges were suspended, for which he was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He was issued appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Niagara Court and released.
