The University at Buffalo football team will host Ball State on Saturday afternoon at UB Stadium.

This is the first time since 2011 Buffalo and Ball State will meet and the first time since 2010 the teams will play at UB Stadium.

Both Buffalo and Ball State are in search of their first conference wins. Tyree Jackson hit a season-best nine different receivers in the Bulls last game against Kent State. Buffalo is third in the MAC in sacks allowed, giving up five through five games. Ball State is second in the MAC in sacks with 22. The Bulls lead the MAC and rank third in the nation in pass defense, allowing 135.4 yards per game. Jordan Johnson (1,454) is 35 yards shy of passing Tom Roth (1,488) for 10th in school history in career rushing yards.

The Bulls have been outscored 89-19 in the first half of games this season and only have one first-half touchdown. After being penalized nine times against Albany in the opener, the Bulls have only been penalized 16 times in the last four games combined, including a season-low two penalties in their last game against Kent State.

The Bulls are 1-4 overall, 0-1 in the MAC and coming off a 44-20 loss to Kent State on Saturday. Ball State is 3-3 overall, 0-2 in the MAC and is coming off a 24-21 loss at Central Michigan on Saturday. The Cardinals are led by running back James Gilbert who has rushed for 590 yards and six touchdowns on the season. Ball State leads the all-time series, 8-1. The Cardinals won the last meeting, 28-25, in 2011 at Scheumann Stadium.

Tyree Jackson hit a season-high nine different receivers against Kent State last Saturday. The redshirt-freshman quarterback finished 20-of-39 for a season-high 250 yards against the Golden Flashes.
