The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has announced Canisius men’s diver Travis Wright as the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week for the second consecutive week, after his performance against Geneseo in last weekend’s home opening meet.
The men’s diving team gained the top two positions in the one and three meter, with Wright winning each event. Wright finished with a score of 295.30 in the one meter event, over 10 points higher than the second place competitor, while scoring 360.05 in the three meter, nearly 75 points higher than the next closest diver.
The top diver in all six events he has competed in this season, the Derby, New York native earned MAAC Diver of the Year and Canisius Male Athlete of the Year accolades a year ago, after he won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events at the MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Flickinger Center last February.
Wright and the Griffs will host Colgate at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Flickinger Center.
