BUFFALO — Buffalo State men’s hockey goaltender Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, N.Y./Pawling) was named the SUNYAC goalie of the week after backstopping the Bengals to a pair of conference victories over the weekend.
The senior business major posted a 1.00 GAA and .964 save percentage in the two Buffalo State wins. He turned aside 22 shots as the Bengals (2-1-1, 2-1-1) knocked off No. 5 Plattsburgh, 4-1, on Friday and followed it with 32 saves in a 4-1 win over Potsdam on Saturday.
DeLaVergne (2-1-1) leads the conference with a 1.48 GAA and .953 save percentage. He was named to All-SUNYAC first team last season after setting single-season school records for wins (14), GAA (2.06) and save percentage (.932).
Buffalo State will host SUNY Canton in a pair of non-conference games this Friday and Saturday. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. both nights at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.
