BUFFALO — After collecting its fourth-consecutive victory, Buffalo State’s men’s hockey team returned to the Top 15 rankings in the latest D3Hockey.com national poll released today.
The Bengals came in at No. 15 in the nation after taking two games from SUNY Canton over the weekend, improving to 4-1-1 on the year.
After losing and then tying Fredonia in the opening weekend of the season, Buffalo State has picked up four-straight wins over Potsdam, Canton (two) and nationally-ranked Plattsburgh (at the time, the Cardinals were No. 5).
St. Norbert was the top team in the country this week with SUNYAC foe Oswego State, Adrian, UW-Stevens Point and Utica rounding out the top five.
It is the first time that the Bengals returned to the national rankings since being ranked No. 14 in the opening poll of the season.
The SUNYAC has four teams in the Top 15 poll. Buffalo State and Oswego are joined by No. 6 Geneseo and No. 12 Plattsburgh.
Buffalo State hosts Stevenson in a non-conference series this weekend at the BSC Ice Arena. Friday’s game will face off at 7 p.m. while Saturday’s game will start at 4 p.m.
