Marshall M. Herrington of Newfane, NY husband of Jane Creasy Herrington and the late late Susan Silver Herrington entered into rest Thursday, December 1, 2016 at home. He was born in Watertown, NY August 6, 1943, the son of the late Marshall and Christine Weidenbeck Herrington.
He worked for General Motors, in Lockport, NY as a pipefitter 37 1/2 years, retiring in September 1999. Marshall also was a member of UAW Retirees Chapter Local 686 and was a shop committeeman. He also loved playing and coaching fastpitch softball team “Roberts Roofing” for many years. Marshall coached both JV and Varsity Football teams for Newfane Central School. He also was the Dog Control Officer for Town of Newfane for 45 years. Marshall was an avid University of Michigan sports fan “Go Blue”.He also was a member of CARP fishing club.
Father of Eric (Jill) Herrington of Lockport, NY and Chad (Lisa) Herrington of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Brother of Howard (Eileen) Herrington, Rita (Gerry) Burt and David (Terry) Herrington all of Newfane, NY. Brother in law of Nancy (JR) Reid of Cape Coral, FL, Thomas Creasy of Lockport, NY and the Linda Lort and Kenneth Creasy. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on MONDAY 4-8 PM where memorial services will be held TUESDAY at 11:00 AM. Memorials to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY would be appreciated by the family.
