Buffalo State freshman forward Natasha Steinle (Morrison, CO/Canadian International Hockey Acad.) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West Rookie of the Week today after helping the Bengals collect a two-game series sweep over Salem State this past weekend, per the conference’s release.
Steinle tallied a goal in each of the Bengals wins against the Vikings, helping Buffalo State improve to 7-4-1 on the year.
The criminal justice major scored the opening goal in Friday’s 2-1 win, then found the back of the net for the Bengals’ second goal in Saturday’s 6-2 victory. The freshman forward now has a goal in three-straight outings and five total points on the season (three goals, two assists).
Steinle and the Bengals return to action at home tomorrow at 2 p.m. against Williams (6-4-0) at the Buffalo State College Ice Arena.
