BUFFALO — Fresh off winning the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational this past weekend, Buffalo State’s men’s hockey team improved one spot to No. 9 in the D3Hockey.com national poll and remained at No. 10 in the United State College Hockey Online (USCHO) national poll this week.
The No. 9 ranking in the D3Hockey poll is the highest mark received in program history. The No. 10 USCHO rank ties the program record for highest mark ever received, last earned in the Jan. 2 poll.
The Bengals (11-3-1, 5-2-1 SUNYAC) knocked off Becker 6-2 on Friday and followed it with a 3-0 victory over Nichols in the tournament’s title game the next day. Buffalo State has now won six of its last seven games, and 11 of its past 13 contests.
The SUNYAC has three teams in both rankings, with Oswego (4/4) and Geneseo (8/7) joining Buffalo State in the top 10 of each poll.
The Bengals return to action with a road-series this Friday and Saturday against Lebanon Valley College in Hershey, Pa. Friday’s game is set to face off at 7 p.m. while Saturday’s will begin at 5 p.m.
