The men’s one-meter preliminaries had the Bulls sitting in the Top-Six. Troy Birdsall was in sixth place with a score of 254.20. Two places above him was teammate Kristian Santos with a score of 287.45. Nick Rodriguez and Dan Roche were sitting first and second (respectively). Rodriguez posted an impressive score of 339.35, while Roche posted a score of 310.10. The finals shook things up a bit, but not for senior Rodriguez. Rodriguez solidified his first place finish by posting a score of 337.55, more than ten points above second place. Birdsall dove into the third place spot with a score of 305.40, with teammate Santos one place behind him in fourth with a score of 301.85.
The women were able to place two in the Top-Five in the finals of the one-meter dive. During preliminaries, Abbey Croce was the lone Bull in the Top-Five, coming in second place with a score of 277.25. Not far behind her was teammate Mackenzie Moss with a score of 229.05 and a sixth place finish. Valarie Lortie came in seventh with a score of 226.95. Moss was able to move up one place in the finals, coming in fifth with a score of 253.00. Croce fell two spots to fourth place and a score of 258.80.
The diving invitational will close out Sunday with the platform dives, beginning at 11 a.m.
