Canisius sophomore Vivian Mroz and junior Travis Wright have been named MAAC Divers of the Week for their performances in a win over Niagara last weekend, the conference announced Wednesday.

Both divers swept their respective events Saturday afternoon, as Mroz won the one-meter event with a score of 228.98 and posted a top score of 237.30 to win the three-meter. Wright claimed the leading score in the men’s one-meter at 331.13, while also placing first in the three-meter at 334.35.

Mroz took the one meter by over 10 points and won the three meter by more than 29 points, with Wright winning the one meter by over 45 points and the three meter by more than 22.

Wright, who has scored above 300 in all but one of his three meter dives this season, has now won MAAC Diver of the Week five times in 2016-17, while Mroz has claimed the award on three occasions.

The Divers will complete their regular season events this weekend when they travel to Fredonia, N.Y. for the Fredonia Diving Invite, Saturday at 1 p.m. The team will then prepare for the 2017 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships being held in Buffalo at the Burt Flickinger Center Feb. 8-11.
