ELLERY — A 26-year-old Jamestown man was arrested Wednesday on drug charges following a traffic stop on Townline Road.

According to New York State Police, Troopers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and while speaking to the driver, they observed marijuana on the floor in plain sight.  A K-9 handler responded and a search of the vehicle and occupants revealed that Terry Kendall, a passenger in teh vehicle, was in possession of five straws containing heroin residue, a burnt wire containing narcotics residue, a digital scale containing heroin residue and glassine bags used for heroin packaging.

Kendall was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. He was processed at SP Jamestown and released with appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Ellery Court on a later date.

The 17-year-old driver was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana and a traffic ticket.
