PLATTSBURGH — No. 9/10 Buffalo State was unable to overcome a slow start as it dropped a 2-1 decision at Plattsburgh tonight for its first SUNYAC loss since the opening game of the season.

Plattsburgh converted a 1606 advantage in shots over the first 20 minutes into a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission.  Anthony Beaumont (Lester, PA/Interboro) finally got the Bengals on the board midway through the second period with his eighth goal of the season with assists from Roberts Smits (Riga, Latvia) and Darren Young (Woodstock, ON/St. Mary’s). Buffalo State threatened a number of times, hitting the cross bar twice, including on a late power play, but the Bengals were unable to net the equalizer. Plattsburgh finished with a 35-23 advantage in shots, as Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) made 33 saves for the Bengals. Both teams were 0 for 4 on the power play.
