NIAGARA FALLS — New York State Police charged 22-year-old Shaquan Shingledecker of Niagara Falls and 23-year-old Yariliss Flecha of Rochester Thursday with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and other related offenses following a pursuit on Niagara Falls Boulevard.
According to New York State Police, Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle on Niagara Falls Boulevard for a traffic offense around 2:20 p.m. The operator, Shingledecker, failed to comply with the Trooper’s emergency lights. This led to a brief pursuit that ended after the Shingledecker lost control and struck a fence and home on 75th Street.
Shingledecker and a passenger, Flecha, were taken into custody. During the investigation a loaded 9mm handgun and packages of heroin were found inside the suspect’s vehicle.
Shingledecker and Flecha were taken to ECMC via ambulance for non-life threatening injuries and released after treatment. Both were transported back to SP Niagara for processing.
Both are awaiting arraignment in the City of Niagara Falls court.
