BUFFALO — Senior Blake Hamilton has been named the MAC East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.  This is the first time this year that a Buffalo player has been honored as the league’s player of the week.

Hamilton led Buffalo to pair of wins over two of the top teams in the MAC West as Hamilton averaged 26.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game in victories over Central Michigan and Ball State. In the win over Central Michigan, Hamilton just missed a triple double as he had a game-high 27 points, while adding 11 rebounds and eight assists.  He helped the Bulls to 101 points, their highest total in regulation against a MAC team since joining the league.  Hamilton then followed it up on Friday night in a road win at MAC West leader Ball State as he had a game-high 25 points, while adding eight assists for the second straight game.

Over the last three games, he is averaging 28.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in games against Akron, Central Michigan, and Ball State.

Hamilton and the Bulls will be back in action on Tuesday night when Buffalo hosts Northern Illinois at Alumni Arena.  Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
