The Bulls begin a two-game road trip on Saturday afternoon when they head to Bowling Green for a matchup with the Bowling Green Falcons.  Through 11 conference games, Bowling Green remains the only team in the league that the Bulls have not faced yet.  The Bulls have won five straight games against Bowling Green dating back to the end of the 2013-14 season.

Sophomore Nick Perkins has taken a liking to his role as sixth man and he is averaging 15.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per contest in the eight games since coming off the bench.  In that stretch of eight games, Perkins has three 20-point games and two double-figure rebounding performances, including a season-high 12 rebounds on Tuesday night against Northern Illinois.

The Bulls are looking for their first four-game winning streak of the season on Saturday at Bowling Green.  UB has not won four straight games since the end of last season when the streak began at Bowling Green on March 4 and ran straight through the MAC Tournament with three straight victories.  The Bulls had one regular season four-game winning streak last year from Jan. 26-Feb. 6 with wins over Ball State, Toledo, Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan.

Bowling Green is 11-13 on the season and 5-6 in MAC play following an 84-83 overtime victory against Kent State on Tuesday night.  Like the Bulls, Bowling Green has won three straight games.  Included in BG’s stretch is a 104-100 double overtime win against Toledo.  The Falcons are currently 9-5 at home.

The Falcons are led by Zack Denny, who is averaging 12.7 points per game.  He had 30 points in the win over the Rockets.  Wes Alcegaire is averaging 12.3 points per game and Demajeo Wiggins is averaging 11.0 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds per contest.  In all, five Bowling Green players are averaging at least 8.0 points per game.

Bowling Green is part of four-way tie for seventh place in the MAC at 5-6, joining Kent State, Toledo, and Eastern Michigan.  All four teams are just one game behind five teams, who are tied for second, including the Bulls.

A 1994 graduate of BGSU, Michael Huger was named the 17th head men’s basketball coach on April 17, 2015. Huger, who returned to his alma mater where he was a standout player for the Falcons from 1989-93, came to BGSU after four seasons at the University of Miami and eight total seasons as an assistant coach for head coach Jim Larrañaga, whom he played for at BGSU. Prior to following Larrañaga to Miami, Huger spent four seasons at George Mason where he helped lead the Patriots to the postseason every year — including NCAA berths in 2008 and 2011.

With their 96-69 win over Ball State on Friday, the Bulls have now scored 90 or more points in three straight games, following 101 points against Central Michigan and 90 points against Akron.  This is just the fourth time in school history that the Bulls have scored at least 90 points in three straight games and the first time since 1994-95.  UB also accomplished it during the 1969-70 season and the 1989-90 season.
