
Richard “Dick” T. Wright of Newfane, NY husband of Janet McKay Wright passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at Niagara Hospice House. Born on November 26, 1937 in Lockport, NY to the late Wilbur and Florence Ritz Wright.
Dick attended DeSalles High School and later Erie Community College. He was self employed as a financial consultant with Wright Investments. Dick was a member of the Jaycees, he organized the million dollar derby for leukemia and the leukemia telethon. Dick was a past president of the Leukemia Society. He was also an avid bowler, golfer, fisherman and loving father and grandfather.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years Janet; his children; Michael (Sue) Wright, Julie (Mike) Carter), Karen Wright and Daniel Wright. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family are invited to call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY 14108 on Thursday from 4-7PM. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 12Noon at St. Brendan on the Lake (Newfane Site) 3455 Ewings Rd. Newfane, NY 14108. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
