The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its men’s hockey All-Conference teams today, honoring Buffalo State’s Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) as the Goalie of the Year and naming Brody Power (Toronto, ON/Upper Canada College) to the second team.

DeLaVergne, a senior business major, is the first team All-SUNYAC goalie for the second consecutive season.  He leads the SUNYAC with a .932 save percentage and is second in the league with a 1.80 goals against average and is on pace to set the school single-season records in both categories.  He has also set the school’s single-season record with 17 wins, and is on pace to set the school’s career marks in both save percentage and goals against average.

Power, a junior economics major, is a first time honoree as a defenseman.  He has played all 26 games and leads all Bengals’ defenseman 16 points on a goal and 15 assists.  Power leads Buffalo State with 23 blocked shots and has a plus-8 rating.

Buffalo State is currently ranked No. 13/14 in the nation and set a school record for wins in a season with a mark of 18-7-1.  The Bengals defeated Fredonia 2-1 last  nights in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals and will visit Oswego on Saturday for the semifinals at 7 p.m.
