The Canisius baseball team bounced back from early struggles to explode for 10 runs in the top of the seventh inning to power past Fort Wayne, 13-6, at Perfect Game Field, in Lake Point, Ga., Sunday. With the win the Griffs improved to a perfect 4-0 on the weekend, and is now 6-2 on the season.

After falling behind 5-0 in the first inning, the Griffs tallied a run in both the top of the second and top of the fourth before exploding in the top of seventh.

Tim Kensinger got the rally started, singling home William Krull with the bases loaded. In the next at bat, Brandon Nicholson walked to plate another Golden Griffin run to make it 5-4.

Jake Lumley belted a double to score two more, while Ryan Stekl followed suit with a two-RBI single in the next at bat. Christ Conley came on and singled home an RBI in his at bat, before a Kensinger walk with the bases loaded later in the frame scored another run for the Blue and Gold. The scoring was capped by a two-run error by the Mastadons, before Lumley ended the inning.

Carson Perkins made his second start for the Griffs and only recorded one out before being pulled, allowing four hits and four earned runs.

Nolan Hunt and Jared Kennedy came on in relief and worked 6.2 innings and allowed seven hits, and a pair of runs. Kennedy earned his first win of the season in relief, while Alvin Vega and Tyler Smith also worked an inning of relief each in the win.

10 different Griffs recorded hits in the contest with Krull leading the way with three hits in four at bats including a homerun. Nicholson produced three RBI to lead the team, while Lumley, Stekl, Joseph Preziuso and Kensinger all posted two RBI apiece.
