CLARENCE — Divers from the New Jersey State Police and Erie County Sheriff Department will join the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT) today for annual winter dive training.
Typically this is a consolidated regimen held in the Albany area, however, this year the training is being held regionally with divers from Troops A, E, C, and D responding to Spaulding Lake in the to conduct training on surface supply, helmet, and SCUBA operations. The intent of this training is to ensure the NYSP divers can respond to underwater search and recovery missions in the safest and most efficient way possible.
All WNY is made possible thanks to coffee and sleep deprivation.
