Many Western New York municipalities had temporarily scrapped winter parking rules in late February due to — essentially — the lack of winter. Or at least the lack of snow.

From Feb. 22 to Feb. 27, Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Hamburg, the Town of Tonawanda and the Village of Kenmore — among others — set aside their winter regulations. And for a while it may look they wouldn’t need to be reinstated. Then winter returned.

Within the last 24 hours, the winter parking bans or otherwise-revised regulations in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Hamburg, Town of Tonawanda and Village of Kenmore have all been re-instated. In Cheektowaga it’s only slated to be in effect until Thursday. In Tonawanda, it’s set to run through Saturday.

Maybe winter will go away again by then.
