BUFFALO — Buffalo Police say a 29-year-old male has been charged with arson in connection with Saturday morning’s fire at a Lafayette Avenue apartment building that left 90 people homeless.

BFD firefighters battled the blaze at the Lafayette-Barton Apartments at Lafayette Avenue and Barton Street for half a day. When they were done, damage was estimated at nearly $2 million.
Most of the residents have been temporarily sheltered by the American Red Cross.
