EDISON, N.J. – Freshman first baseman Peter Battaglia was named MAAC Rookie of the Week announced on Tuesday.
In Niagara’s week against Virginia Tech and Marshall, Battaglia went 6-for-15 at the plate and led the Purple Eagles with a .400 average. He also had a team-high seven RBI.
Battaglia, who ranks fifth in the MAAC in hits with 14 on the season so far, also recorded two runs scored and two doubles. He finished the week with a .533 slugging percentage.
