GUGINO – John J. Of Orchard Park, NY, formerly of Angola, NY, entered into rest March 19, 2017, beloved husband of 47 years to Louise “WeeGee” (nee DeJames) Gugino; devoted father of JayCee (Marty) Memminger, Jill (Brian) Redman and John (Ashley) Gugino; adored grandfather of Madison and Mason Memminger, Dominic and Joseph Redman and Isabella and Gia Gugino; loving son of the late Frank J. and Rose Gugino; dear son-in-law of the late Sebastian and Angeline DeJames; also survived by many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd. near Lake Ave. on Wednesday from 2-8 PM where prayers will be said on Thursday morning at 9:45 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Church, 22 Prospect St., Angola, NY at 11 o’clock. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Angola, NY.

Mr. Gugino was a decorated Korean War veteran who served in the 999th Armored Field Artillery Battalion Never Die as a Field Wire Man. He holds a United Nations Service Medal, a Korean Service Medal and two Bronze Stars. He served in Japan and Korea from 1951-1954. After graduating college, John then worked for John Morrell & Company and Dubuque Meat Packing Company before starting his own food brokerage company, F&J Food Sales, which he successfully ran until 1995 when he retired. John was a former coach for youth basketball and Little League Baseball and a die hard New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. The family would like to thank Hospice for all of their love and support.
