Robert Jean Poupart, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at his residence, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born on February 28, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, Robert was the son of the late Jean Remi and Rose Alaina (Beanie) Poupart.

Mr. Poupart was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. He proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, until his honorable discharge in 1959.  Prior to his service in the Army, Mr. Poupart was employed as a chemical operator for E.I. DuPont and from 1962, until his retirement in 1997, Robert worked as a shipping clerk for Carborundum.  He was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church and a member of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union.

Mr. Poupart is survived by three siblings, Paul A. (Jeanette) Poupart, Rhea (John) Whitham and Pauline (Herman) Rueter; fifteen nieces and several cousins.

The family will gather to receive friends on Wednesday, April 5th from 3-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara, where a funeral service honoring Robert’s life will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m., concluding with Military Honors.  Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice or Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
