Francis A. Nashwinter of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, in Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, NY. He was born in Drifting, PA on August 3, 1921, a son of the late William and Margaret (Folmar) Nashwinter.
Mr. Nashwinter served with the US Army, as an aircraft mechanic in the European Theater during World War II. After the war he moved to Pekin and was an auto mechanic at Kruger Chevrolet and later with Calabro Chevrolet in Grand Island, before retiring in 1983.
He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Mr. Nashwinter was the husband of the late Erna E. [Brose] Nashwinter, who passed away in April of 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Betty (Ronald) Beu, a granddaughter Karen (Dameon) Church, three great grandchildren Noah, Ethan and Claire Church and his dear friend Theresa Demmin, also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Nashwinter was the brother of the late Robert, Paul, Harold, Lawrence, Lucy Raymond and Regina Records.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY, with Rev. R. Peter Vogeler officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Interment with military honors in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.
