TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 19-year-old Lockport man was charged earlier today with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on South Transit Road.
According to New York State Police, Dante V. Kinney was stopped for failure to stop at a stop sign. Troopers smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle upon approach. Further investigation revealed Kinney was in possession of a glass smoking pipe containing marijuana residue and Xanax medication without a prescription. He was placed under arrest and transported to the New York State Police Lockport Barracks for processing.
Kinney was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Lockport Court at a later date.
