BUFFALO — Mariah Rosario (Flushing/RFK) scored a career-high 17 points and tied a career high with 13 rebounds but it was not enough as Buffalo State dropped a 58-52 decision to visiting Plattsburgh on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Rosario led the Bengals in scoring and added three steals in the game.
  • Jenna Lee (Wallkill/Wallkill) and Liv LeBaron (Horseheads/Corning Painted Post) each scored 10 points, with LeBaron chipping in eight rebounds and four assists.
  • Grace Licata (Williamsville/Williamsville South) finished with three 3-pointers to finish with nine points in the game.
  • Plattsburgh opened the game on a 9-3 run and used the momentum to lead 13-5 after the first 10 minutes of action.
  • A 3-pointer from Licata with 30 seconds left in the first half cut the lead to seven at halftime, 22-15.
  • Buffalo State used a 19-4 run in the third quarter to retake the lead 39-34 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
  • The Bengals used a jumper from Rosario to extend the lead to seven points, it’s largest of the day, with nine minutes left in the fourth frame.
  • The Cardinals used back-to-back 3-pointers from Anna Thompson to capture the lead and never looked back as it pulled away to a 58-52 win.
  • Buffalo State outrebounded the Cardinals 47-42 and outscored Plattsburgh 22-14 in the paint.
  • The Bengals outscored the Cardinals 28-7 in bench points.

  • Anna Thompson led the Cardinals with 15 points and seven rebounds.
  • Taylor Clare added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
