SHELBY — A 37-year-old Gasport man was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI following a traffic stop on State Route 31.

According to New York State Police, Troopers were dispatched for report of a sick or intoxicated driver northbound on State Route 63 in the town of Shelby. Troopers stopped Ross A. Vendetta on State Route 31 for crossing hazard markings. While speaking to Vendetta, the operator, Troopers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Vendetta was placed under arrest after failing multiple SFSTs and transported to SP Albion where he provided a breath sample of .24 BAC.

Smith was issued traffic tickets returnable to the town of Shelby Court for July 2018.
